The $500 annual fee plus $50,000 bond requirement makes Alabama one of the more expensive states to register in. Both failure to register and falsifying application information are class C felonies. Alabama is one of the few states that also requires individual salesperson registration ($50 each). Exemptions exist for isolated transactions and calls for religious, charitable, educational, political, or noncommercial purposes.
Each individual telephone salesperson employed by a licensed commercial telephone seller must be separately licensed with the Attorney General's Office. $50 per salesperson per year. Alabama is one of only a few states (along with Florida and Maine) that requires individual-level registration in addition to business registration.
