South Dakota Do-Not-Call List
State DNC registry requirements for South Dakota
South Dakota does not maintain a separate state DNC list. Scrubbing the federal National DNC Registry at donotcall.gov is sufficient for state compliance.
National Do Not Call Registry (South Dakota uses federal list)
Covers
South Dakota does NOT maintain a separate state Do Not Call list — the federal NDNC is the only list. South Dakota DOES require telemarketer registration at least 30 days before transacting business. Exemptions exist for B2B calls, established business relationships, and prior permission/inquiry. South Dakota has adopted the federal registry as its reference for DNC compliance. Enforcement is through the South Dakota Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. First 5 area codes are free through the FTC portal.
Federal National DNC Registry (Always Required)
You must scrub the federal list regardless of whether South Dakota has its own list. There is no opt-out from federal DNC compliance.
