Montana Do-Not-Call List
State DNC registry requirements for Montana
Montana does not maintain a separate state DNC list. Scrubbing the federal National DNC Registry at donotcall.gov is sufficient for state compliance.
National Do Not Call Registry (Montana uses federal list)
Covers
Montana does NOT maintain a separate state Do Not Call list — the federal NDNC Registry is the only list telemarketers must scrub against. Montana DOES require telemarketer registration before commencing business in the state (no advance timeframe specified). Registration applies to "telemarketing sellers or businesses." Montana has B2B and established business relationship exemptions. Enforcement is through the Montana Attorney General's Office, Office of Consumer Protection. First 5 area codes are free through the FTC portal.
Federal National DNC Registry (Always Required)
You must scrub the federal list regardless of whether Montana has its own list. There is no opt-out from federal DNC compliance.
