Vermont Do-Not-Call List
State DNC registry requirements for Vermont
Vermont does not maintain a separate state DNC list. Scrubbing the federal National DNC Registry at donotcall.gov is sufficient for state compliance.
National Do Not Call Registry (Vermont uses federal list)
Covers
Vermont does NOT maintain a separate state Do Not Call list — the federal NDNC is the only list. Vermont DOES require telemarketer registration with the state. Registration does not require annual renewal. Exemptions exist for established business relationships, prior permission/inquiry, and B2B calls. Enforcement is through the Vermont Attorney General's Consumer Assistance Program. Vermont's Consumer Protection Act (9 V.S.A. Chapter 63) provides additional enforcement tools for deceptive telemarketing practices. First 5 area codes (VT has only 1 area code: 802) are free through the FTC portal.
Federal National DNC Registry (Always Required)
You must scrub the federal list regardless of whether Vermont has its own list. There is no opt-out from federal DNC compliance.
