North Carolina Cold Calling Compliance
Voice call compliance rules for outbound telemarketing in North Carolina
Mini-TCPA State — N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-101 et seq.
North Carolina has enacted a state-level TCPA that goes beyond federal requirements. Federal compliance alone is not enough for Cold Calling operations here.
Consent Requirements
Automated calls require prior consent. Manual dialing to non-DNC numbers with proper identification is the cleanest cold outreach path. Live calls with proper disclosure are permitted to non-DNC numbers. Violations are UDTP violations with mandatory treble damages — NC is more dangerous than it appears for automated calling.
