Overview

Maine requires telemarketer registration with the Secretary of State under 32 M.R.S. § 14716 and maintains a state DNC list. Penalties up to $10,000 per violation. The Unfair Trade Practices Act provides additional enforcement and private right of action. Maine also restricts automated calls and requires caller ID transmission.
